Designed for a large Indian family of brothers with their parents, wives and children the apartment building comprises of 3 apartments, 1 per floor, with the ground floor on stilts for parking.
Typical floor plan
The design brief called for strict adherence to Vastu Shastra as one of the main criteria of design, which proved difficult to accomplish owing to the orientation of the plot, its size, its proportions being longer than wide, possible neighboring building blocking ventilation and the changing requirements of the clients.
A number of solutions were found and rejected, and finally, after months of interaction with clents, going back to drawing table and breaking heads, the final plans were approved to the satisfaction of all. Today, the building is under construction and nearing completion.
